Fifth Grade Research Project
Students will be starting their big research project on October 6th. From time to time, updates, important documents, and photos will be added to this site.
Timeline for 5th grade project
October 6-11th - Introduce project, hand out timeline, begin brainstorming topics
October 17-19th - Introduce journals, choose topic, begin research
October 25-27th - Research
November 2-8th - Research
November 14-16th - Research
November 22-30th - Final Day to complete research
December 6-8th - Begin drawings/sketches/blueprints
December 14-16th - Continue drawings, create list of materials needed (visit the Garage)
December 22-January 4th - Final drawings due
January 10-12th - Begin creating/building inventions
January 19-23rd - Continue building
January 27-31st - Building
February 6-8th - Final invention projects completed and due
February 14-16th - Start writing reflection piece (to be completed during Tutorial time with teachers)
February 23-27th - Start creating iMovie/slideshow/powerpoint/poster board
March 6-8th - Work on presentation
March 14-20th - Final touches to presentation
March 24-28th - Project complete (extra time for any students who were absent or missed library time)
****Students will work with Mrs. Sopp in January during 2 art class times to work on their projects.
****Students will work with Mr. Bodura in March during 1 technology class time to work on their presentations.
